Ok, first off....in the beginning Cirith (Correct spelling) was no where near even thinking of Amtgard, he was almost prof skater. The starting company was called the Morluks, and changed to Corsairs some time after, Hellspawn Soulcrusher of The Dark WAS there. Missing from posted lists are Alki Freestyle, there is also ANOTHER Doug (Can't remember his persona name) from BL, Kinerk was made before Tufar, and shocked and appauled Xevious wasn't in first list, lol....He was the FIRST Maggot. Also left out was Ungol who later along with Cirith re-spread their wings, after making the mistake of going solo with their Corsair sub company, the Saracens (SP?).

Another SCA Corsair was Han-See or Roin (SP?) maybe Royen is correct. Theo was also a Corsair for a short time and also left out from BL was Raxx, and Curse let his wings show for a short time, then pussed out again with his wierd ass self and hid them again, always wondered how he managed that.....they must hurt shuved up his ass....hehe Ok, it hurts....that's all I can remember right now........I really love you guys, and will be getting off my lazy selfish ass asap...I have a line on a job, and will do my best to fix things. I will show you, especially my lovely daughter Brynn Phoenix, also left off any list.

I do not think that is correct. Not saying it's not on the fuckwad Albanian flag. Saying I don't think that is where Corsair emblem came from. When the Corsairs were first formed, Albania was still part of CCCP, not a bunch of fucked-up Muslim terrorists trying to take land that was never theirs.

Germany also uses a two headed bird on their coat of arms, as does Russia. Who knows how many medieval flags used it as well? I first saw a double-headed emblem come out of Germany.

Please do not confuse Corsairs with Saracens. We never emulated Muslims, or Moors.

you are right when the Corsairs were formed Albania was part of the CCCP but as you can also see, Albania has used the 2 headed "Eagle" since the 15 century. In the 17 century the Zar of Russia used a Gold 2 headed Eagle that was latter changed to a Black one in the early 18 century and back to a gold one in the late 18 century. The reason i named Albania as the place where "OUR" Bird comesfrom is because it is the closet looking to the one we use. Russia's has a Crown on and in one talon it is holding an arrow and the other one an egg. Germany's also has a Crown and is holding one. The Albania's Flag and Eagle is very close to the one used as a pattern on the early Birds that i have seen.

Albania has been a Turkish possession since the 15th century. In the 19th century century, the Albanian independentist circles used a red flag with the Byzantine double-headed eagle, supposedly used by the Albanian medieval hero Skanderbeg (a.k.a. George Kastrioti), and never forgotten in Albania. The above image is a reconstruction.

This flag was used by the Albanian chief Isa Boletin in 1910, when he rebelled against Turkey. When the Autonomous Government was proclaimed in Mirditë in June 1911, this was the flag used.

The first Corsairs besides myself as founder were Ekrose, Conan, Theo (thats right Sir Theo), Falsuul, Cheetah, SirDeth, SirLars,and a few others. The group was never called the Morluks and that term was added by J.W. at a later date. The first name of the company was the Satisfiers of the Sun Temple of Tyr. But as you can see that name does not roll off the tounge easily. The name was changed a few short months afterward still 1983 to the Corsairs of Asgard (or hasgarth) which much better suited our pirate tendancies.



Zyax, Hellspawn, Cirith were nowhere around when the household was formed in 1983. Most history that is available is revisionist to say the least. I invited Zyax and Hellspawn into the company in 1984.

I formed the company to add flavor and a brotherhood for the not so mainstream populous of Amtgard.



The Device of the double headed phoenix was adopted by me in part to mirror the phoenix device of the BL and to represent in black the darker side of the personas that were attracted to the company. Though the Prussian double headed eagle was used as a model.

The company has the honour of being the longest active house in Amtgard, The first knight of the sword, the first warlord, The first Interkingdom household, The household with the largest number of belted individuals, IMHO the best warriors.

Thanks for the clarifications and additional info, Morluk. The info I gathered was from scouring old Amtgard documents, etc., so it's only as accurate as those writers made it. My goal was to get the most accurate info I had out there for the newest members of the Company to be able to learn and be proud of. No misinformation was intended and any errors are deeply regretted. Thanks again for the updates.

ELycia Winsinger & Amaryah hap Illys de Visclo were also Corsairs in the Burning Lands 1985. Elycia brought in by Zyax & her Mother Ryah was so taken by their charm that she joined soon after, she used to be an Amazon. Many many parties were held at their apt in EP. Man! That was a looong time ago. I believe that they were also the first to have Corsair tats. There was also a cool red haired lady named Abadon. Also another swell chicky named Raven....ummm... Gosh , I'll bet that I still have some old-ass newsletters from the burning lands with tourney info that will list most awesome prowess of unremembered COrsairs. ANybody put Zenobia? Zyax's sister! More to come.. same Corsair time, same COrsair channel!
